Prince Edward Island’s world famous culinary foods are one of the highlights tourists will be encouraged to sample when visiting Prince Edward Island this year, according to Deputy Premier and Agriculture Minister George Webster, as the province unveils its tourism marketing plan.

“This year’s marketing campaign will share the story of some of the key elements Prince Edward Island offers as a tourism destination, such as our tremendous golf, delicious culinary and incredible hospitality,” Webster said. “In particular, for 2010, we will place a special emphasis on our culinary delights. The freshness of our world renowned food, be it from land or sea, is something we want visitors to experience as part of their destination travel.”

The Department of Tourism and Culture, along with the Tourism Advisory Council (TAC), unveiled  details of the 2010 Marketing, Media and Public Relations plan to Prince Edward Island tourism operators at a gathering last week.
