India's private airlines have decided not to go ahead with their plan to suspend flights Aug. 18, their association said.
The proposed strike has been called off because of the "agitated" public sentiment, potential inconvenience to passengers and the government's willingness to talk, Anil Baijal, secretary general of the Federation of Indian Airlines, said over the weekend.The federation represents Jet Airways (India) Ltd., Kingfisher Airlines Ltd. as well as budget carriers SpiceJet Ltd. and IndiGo Airlines.
