More than a century of history marks an extraordinary place where people from all walks of life came for rest, relaxation and the healing powers of the mineral springs of Rocky River Springs. Even before the Revolutionary War, Indians had discovered a group of springs which were said to contain various minerals such as iron, sulfur, and magnesia that were believed to have "healing powers." In those early years, a pioneer settler and his wife built their home on a hill overlooking the famous springs and there began the legacy of Rocky River Springs as one of the best known health resorts in the South.
 

From the early 1800s to the 1930s, the legacy evolved through the many generations of landowners when hotels were built, summer homes and cottages were constructed, restaurants were established, and towns were born. People came from all over to enjoy the grand celebrations, picnics and parties, but most came seeking rest, health, relaxation and pleasure. The auction will be held on Thursday, May 27th at 5 p.m., on site at 33894 Rocky River Springs Road, Norwood, NC. The property will be open for viewing on May 12th, May 19th & May 27th from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. Pre Auction offers will be entertained.
